The Secret to homemade bread is Time

We were invited to a neighborhood party and one of the neighbors brought a piping hot loaf of bread and assorted cheeses.¬† It was so delicious and the hit of the party.¬† I was amazed when he said how easy it was to make, so ever since at least once a week I will make some type of bread.¬† The wonderful thing about the recipe is you can whip it together in less than 5 minutes the night before and you will be ready to go 24 hours later.¬† The recipe requires no special equipment, technique,or ingredients just bread flour, yeast, salt and water and a 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 cast iron quart pot.¬† It takes very little effort and the recipe is foolproof……the key is TIME.¬† The recipe¬† from Jim Lahey, Sullivan Street Bakery was featured in the NYT Recipe:NO Knead Bread and he also has a wonderful book MY Bread:The Revolutionary No-work, No-Knead Method.

All of the recipes in his bread book are so yummy.  He features basic pizza, focaccia, pancetta, stecca(small baguettes), stirato (italian baguette), ciabatta delicous sandwiches and some condiments.
